futurist innovator
sustainability consultant, artist and writer
my motto: “live as if you were part of a natural ecosystem”
My passion and goal in life is co-creating a vision of a sustainable future where our human socio-technical world is turned into an actual ecosystem that through Nature-based designs and models that will integrate culture, industry, economy and infrastructure back into our life-sustaining system.
In simple words, what makes me get up in the morning is studying Nature’s complex models to generate new sustainable human models that can integrate our technology based environment back into the natural world, and at the same time, beautify the human world.
For the last 15 years I have analyzed complex human/technology systems and generated solutions as systems engineer and project manager in the automotive and clean-tech sectors. For the last six years psychology has been the basis of my sustainability work.
I currently research and write on the big picture sustainability in the context of the human perception of reality. I offer a systemic global perspective identifying the often unsuspected interconnectedness of today’s world challenges and opportunities such as digital media and personal empowerment or world poverty and climate change.
My sustainability strategy is based on reestablishing the broken link between human psychology and the universal principles of natural world, the ultimate reality.
On the one hand humans became disconnected from nature as civilization expanded and evolved developing a scientific and industrial paradigm that viewed nature as a foreign entity to defend against and take unlimited resources from.
I then believe the root cause and key to achieving sustainability lies in such perception of separation from our life-sustaining system, Nature. A sustainable future therefore means reconnecting us back with Nature.
On the other hand, there is no greater sustainability source for our technology, organizational and economic models than nature itself. From vehicle design to economics, I have looked at Nature for inspiration studying its complex models, proven through almost 4 billion years of evolution.
I have summarized my vision of sustainability as eco-systemizing our human perception of the world and resulting activities and infrastructure. If only we manage to remake our lives and our world abide by the principles and limitations occurring in natural eco-systems, we will have achieved a sustainable society.
Although I still hold such vision, my evolving perception of the world and the sustainability issue has taken me into a new strategy that I believe will improve my ability to spread and illustrate my vision. I am referring to art and entertainment.
As some of you already know I have started creating sci-fi art. I plan to use this work very strategically to connect people with the sustainability challenges facing us and the earth as a whole. A few pioneer artists are already proving that art can penetrate the intellectual barriers of ideology, politics and scientific debate.
Art takes the non-intellectual superhighway into our subconscious mind where the meaningful decisions take place the real side of ourselves resides. I am convinced that until we make the human psyche sustainable, no amount of knowledge, technology and resources will ever be enough to make the shift and prevent the worst outcome of our current degradation of our life sustaining system.
